About Me

Working My Tools

I began working in the irrigation community in 1983 as a laborer and advanced to pipe fitter, job foreman, project manager, and finally landscape company owner. I have over 24 years of professional experience in the irrigation industry as a contractor and an additional 10 years on the supplier side of the business. On the supply side, I worked both underneath a supplier for 7 years who sold irrigation systems and equipment, plants, and hardscapes. I also worked for 2 years at a local nursery. Currently, I’m running my own business and love being free to help customers in any way I can.

In the past, I worked for the largest irrigation supplier in the country for 7 years! I helped customers with a wide range of problems including hydraulic, electrical, and other issues. My very first job locating wiring issues took place at Red Butte Gardens. Ever since, I have loved the satisfaction I feel when I find and fix wire issues or figure out any electrical problem on both large and small irrigation systems! I learned my skills on the job from a professional who had more than 15 years of experience in the irrigation industry.

I’ve traced irrigation wires on a wide variety of job sites, from large commercial locations and parks to small businesses and family homes. With my immense experience level, I accurately pinpoint both electrical shorts and broken wires to within inches of the problem--both horizontally along the wires and the depth of wires underground. I can also help in locating issues on two-wire decoder systems.

Highlights of wire tracing projects I have worked on:

  • First large-scale expansion for landscape and irrigation development at the Salt Lake City International Airport in 2007
  • As an outside salesman for JDL, assisting the landscape contractor on the Legacy Highway development to locate and repair 4 or 5 of the irrigation valves (out of over 150 total valves) and find other electrical issues they had
  • Provo Canyon’s landscaping and irrigation project in 1990 covering a 5-mile section of the canyon
  • Landscape and irrigation installation at the Port of Entry between Utah and Arizona near St. George
